Some tips in capturing moments with a camera

In this day and age people love video cameras.Video camera has taken over those areas where cameras once dominated. But that does not mean that photography is already dead.  No, it still is one of the biggest hobbies around. Photography is not dead because what you can capture with still photos can be an art.  You can really capture moments with great photographs. So here goes some tips in taking great photos.

First thing to learn is to have great anticipation.  For example if you are taking candid shots of people anticipation is key. That has been one of the secrets of taking great photographs as a San Diego wedding photographer.  Because you would be more proactive rather than reactive when you know how to anticipate. It means that you would be more involved in the happenings that you would be taking.  Because when you just react to moments you can miss them so easily.  When you can anticipate you can take great shots.

Another thing you must do is to learn right positioning. What I meant by that is that you have to have a very good location so that you can also take great shots.  As a San Diego photographer you have to always be in a good position.Because if you do not have a very good location to take shots then your shots would not be as great if you have a great position.People can get in the way of your shots.  Or you can have objects get in your way.Finding a great position would lead to great shots.

Lastly, you should know the schedule of the events that would happen.  This has been key in my event photography San Diego business.  Because knowing when the events would happen you can get ready to take photos.Because you might miss some moments if you do not have any idea of what is going to happen next.

So those are some of the tips that can make you take better shots. If you just notice these tips are not technical tips involving your camera. They are more involved in the artistic side of taking photos.

A couple of tips to take stunning portraits

One of the most common ways to take a picture is a portrait.  Portraits are when you have the subject framed in a shot.Since it is something people are so used to they generally don’t see variety. But if you try and use a little more creativity you can make the average shots so much better. With this article I would like to share with you some things you can do to make them better.

First thing you will want is maybe having the perspective of the shot from a different angle. What I am talking about is to not take the photograph from where you would normally take it.  You can change where the picture is coming from.  This is helpful in my San Diego photographer business.  People are so used to seeing photos taken that look the same that when you change it up a little bit it makes big difference.  For example photos you can take from a high angle.Or you can take a photograph that is common and make it different by shooting it from the ground looking up.It can really change the photograph dramatically.

Another way to change things up a bit is by doing some things with the eyes.In general all pictures are taken by having the subject look directly at the camera.  But the direction of the subject’s eye really impacts the picture. What you could do differently is having the subject look off camera. This really changes the look of the photograph and how it feels. Doing a lot of event photography San Diego I have my subjects do this all the time.

Another trick you might want to try is getting the subject to look at something with the picture.  This works great if you are trying to advertise something.  You can have the subject staring at the product you are advertising.  This is a trick that I do a lot as a San Diego commercial photographer. It makes a huge difference by centering the attention onto the product.

So those were some ways that you can take a photo that people are used to one way and changing it for the better.

Some tips for amateur photographers

One of the biggest jobs any photographer can get is as a wedding photographer. And one of the most popular hobbies around is photography. Not all people do it for money.Wedding photography is very exciting for those who are still an amateur in this thing. So you you can give some photos to some of your friends who are going to be married which might be better than the photos of their hired photographer. So here are tips on how to do it.

These are some tips for an amateur photographer but they are some tips I have gained doing San Diego photographer work.So even if you are already a pro in photography then these tips can still help.Because as I have said, doing wedding photography is one of the biggest things that can happen to a photographer.

So, the first thing that you can do is to psyche yourself up to be in the moment.  What do I mean by that?Well, almost all of us know the feeling of being in a wedding. The events here are planned to the last detail. But a lot of emotions happen during those events even if they are planned.  Since you have been to many wedding be ready for those moments.  Those will be some of the best shots of the whole wedding.  In my portfolio as a San Diego wedding photographer you can see that to be the case.

Another thing to remember is that in a wedding people are constantly on the move.So do not concentrate on taking still photos of people. You will have some of your best photos if you capture the movement of the people. It can be hard to capture moving subjects but it is possible.  Of course I had to hone my skills doing event photography San Diego to be able to do this.  But once you capture some shots that are more than still shots you will love it.  You will be able to outshoot the hired photographer. That would be a great feeling if you are still an amateur. And you can even brag about your shots to your friends.  And who knows, it could lead to paying jobs.

One special part of a wedding is the photgrapher

One of the most special events for a person would be his or her wedding day.Wedding days are usually women’s most special day in their lives. But do not forget that is also a very special day for the groom.A lot of reasons can be cited as to why that day is a special one.One part of a wedding that is not always given attention to is the photographer.

Their part can make that day special is huge.  I know for a fact from my first hand experience as a San Diego photographer.Because the main job of a photographer is to capture that event.  All those special moments must be caught on film. The photos would be the way to remember the events that happened on that fateful day. And only a photograph can capture those moments in time.

Are there more things that a photographer can contribute?  They contribute to turning that wedding day into a story.  A well thought out photo shoot can make a wedding album come alive.Beautifully timed photographs would make a photo album like a beautiful story of two loving persons.Shots that are taken or captured well should be able to tell the events to a person who wasn’t able to attend the wedding just by looking at the pictures.  So with that in mind you need a San Diego wedding photographer who can really accomplish that type of job.But you must also decide if that is what you really want.  Anyone can just take point and click shots.  But you want a photographer with an artistic flair as well.

Making it an event is the final thing a photographer can do.  In my photography practice my work is called event photography, because all occassions should be captured as an event, and a good San Diego photographer service should be able to do that.  Not just simple shots. But shots that that would seem to be bigger than life.

Now hopefully you can see the importance of a good photographer for that special day.A good photographer who can contribute to your special day is the one who you should pick.  Who can make that day larger than life. Because that day should be a very special day when you look back at it.

Get the Best Photographer for the Job

Have a special day coming up that you need to find a photographer for?  Well you’re in luck.  The experience I have gained as a San Diego Photographer will be to your benefit as I share some insights on what you need to do to find the right person for the job.  So before you roll the dice with any old photographer in the yellow pages, heed my quick tips and you will be very pleased in what photographer you find for the job.

When you know that a special day is coming up, most people want a way to remember those special moments, and most of the time it will be with pictures.  So it is critical that if you are going to hire a photographer to capture those moments, that you do your research, , especially if it is a wedding, I know from first hand experience as a San Diego Wedding Photographer.  Start by asking friends and family for any people they can refer you to.  With that list, you can start to put together some potential candidates.

After you have accumulated a list of photographers you should visit their websites.  Check out events they have shot and determine whether or not that is the type of photography you are looking for.  Photographers who have online portfolios will save you a lot of time because then you can prequalify them instead of having to wait til your first meeting to see their portfolio.

Now you are ready to conduct some interviews.  This doesn’t have to be in person.  You can do it over the phone.  The goal of these phone interviews is to ask questions.  Questions that will help you determine if this is the right person for the job.  The more specific you are in asking your questions, the more specific your prospective photographer can be helping you better understand if this is the right person for the job.  By doing this you will narrow the field even more, and from that you can finally schedule to meet those in person who you like so far.

After you have met with your two or three possible photographers it is time to decide which one is right for you.  The key factors to remember when deciding on your photographer is to make sure your choosing the one that you like and the one that understands the vision you have about how you want your memories to be captured.  Before you make the commitment to the photographer make sure you have asked all the questions you had and have considered all the photographers policies carefully.  Once you feel you have found the perfect photographer for your event, then go right ahead and make the commitment.

Completing all these steps will be huge in helping ensure that you find the right person for the job.  Doing this simple process will help you determine a couple of very important things.  It will allow you to get to know your photographer more than any other method.  This is important because it will allow you to know if this person has the style and the vision you are looking for on your special day.  And most importantly you will have a piece of mind that you will not have found any other way in regards to knowing if you have found the right person.  On special days, the last thing you need to stress over is the photographer.
